We were kindly invited to attend the High School Musical launch event, and the East High vibes were absolutely on point. Guests were welcomed with slushies, popcorn, and candy floss before heading into the Compass Room, which had been transformed with basketball hoops, Wildcat lockers and even Sharpay’s iconic dressing table.
The main launch featured insights from the founders of Hope Mill Theatre, Joseph Houston and William Whelton, who shared an exclusive first look at the stage design and costumes. We then heard from Jason Donovan, who spoke about the nostalgia of stepping into the role of Coach Bolton.
Adding to the excitement, Kaycee Stroh made a surprise cameo via recorded video to tell of her excitement in returning to all things High School Musi-cal! Finally, our Troy and Gabriella, Tobias Turley and Leonor Correia, performed several numbers, giving us an exciting taste of what audiences can expect from the production.
High School Musical plays at The Lowry Theatre this summer before transferring to London this autumn.
Below are a selection of photos from the event but more content can be found on Instagram & TikTok.
